If for whatever reason it switches back to High Performance and doesn't save, then here is how you fix it (this is what happened to me).
There you should see a bunch of running applications, and OBS should be among them (you should have OBS running BTW). No black screen, no OBS ( Oh this is so B*ll Shit) moments, no nothin'. So a while ago I used OBS and it worked fine.
